Miners Meadow is in Wheatley Hill, County Durham. It's a detached bungalow built from the ground up for full accessibility. The whole place is on one level, with no steps and wide doors. Everything is very straightforward to use if you're in a wheelchair.
It sleeps five in two bedrooms. Both bedrooms have an en-suite, one is a large wet room. The main bedroom has two electric profiling beds and a hoist. You need to bring your own sling. There's also a double sofa bed in the living area if you need it.
The living space is open plan with patio doors out to your own enclosed garden. It's a quiet spot. The property sits in a big meadow with a stream and a pond. There's a ramped bridge over to a private island with a picnic shelter. You'll see ducks, and sometimes deer.
You're well placed for getting about. It's close to the A19 and A1. Durham city is about a 20 minute drive. You've got the cathedral, the river walks, and the shops there.
Within half an hour you can be at Beamish Museum, or heading into the Durham Dales. The Durham Heritage Coast is about 11 miles away. Seaham has a nice marina and promenade.
The place has a washing machine, bedding and towels are included, and there's parking right outside. No pets. There's a BBQ and bike storage if you need it.
