Sheaf Dale is a single-storey cottage on our farm, a mile outside Portmahomack. It's one of three in a terrace. You get your own gated garden and parking area. The parking is good if you've brought bikes or a trailer.
It sleeps six in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and in good order. Because it's all on the ground floor, there are no stairs to worry about.
The living room is big and looks out over the fields. The kitchen has what you need for cooking for a group. The master bedroom has a super king bed. One bedroom has a double, and the third has bunk beds.
Outside there's a lawn and a patio. The hot tub is on the patio. From there you look out over the fields towards the sea.
Portmahomack village is about a mile down the hill. It's got a sandy beach, a small harbour, a shop, a pub, and a cafe. There's a well-known seafood restaurant there too. The local golf course, Tarbat Golf Club, is just a short walk away.
You're well placed for seeing things. Tain is about a ten minute drive. They have the Glenmorangie Distillery if you want a whisky tour. The Tarbat Discovery Centre in the village is good for local history. Dornoch is about half an hour away, and you've got Royal Dornoch golf course there if that's your thing. The Falls of Shin, where you can sometimes see salmon leaping, is about a 40 minute drive.
The cottage has a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi and TV. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. We are a working farm, so you'll see sheep in the fields.
