The Granary is in Courtway, Somerset. It’s part of a small terraced block converted from old farm buildings on a working farm. I’d describe it as a light, airy space because of the high ceilings. It’s got a 4 Star rating, which I think just means it's well-kept, not necessarily luxurious.
It sleeps up to three people in two bedrooms. One has a double bed, the other a single. There’s one bathroom. The stairs are a typical cottage spiral staircase, so they’re a bit tight.
You're on a farm with horses. If you're bringing your own horse, the owner can arrange stables and a paddock. There's also a shared games barn with a snooker table and table tennis if the weather turns.
The location is quiet. It's up in the Quantock Hills, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You can walk out from the door straight onto paths. The nearest pub doing food is about two miles away, the nearest shop about three and a half.
For a day out, the coast at East Quantoxhead is about eleven miles. Taunton is eight miles away for supermarkets and the like. Within half an hour's drive you've got places like the Cheddar Gorge, the cathedral at Wells, or Dunster with its castle. Exmoor National Park isn't far either.
In terms of what’s here: there’s a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. It's not suitable for pets.
