Burnmouth is one of the cottages on the Balnaboth Estate in Glenprosen. It's detached and sits right by the Prosen Water. The garden is peaceful, you just get the sound of the river.
It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Both bedrooms have their own shower room. It has a 3 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean, not luxurious. The cottage is off-grid, powered by its own hydro system, so the electricity is from the stream. It just means you need to be a bit mindful with power, like not running the washing machine and the kettle at the same time. The water is from a spring, so it's lovely and soft.
There's a multi-fuel burner in the living room. We supply the first bag of fuel. The kitchen is open plan with the living area. There's a TV, a washing machine, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair.
You can bring up to two dogs. The garden isn't fully enclosed, so if your dog wanders, you'd need to keep an eye on them.
The estate is about 6000 acres. You'll see red squirrels and deer. You can walk straight out from the cottage onto the estate paths. The River Prosen has fishing rights if that's your thing. For a proper shop or a pub, you need to drive to Kirriemuir, which is about 9 miles.
Glenshee is roughly 35 miles if you want to ski. Dundee is under an hour's drive. The Angus coast, places like Arbroath or Montrose, is about 40 minutes away.
