Teddy's Cottage

Teddy's Cottage is on the main street in Market Overton. It's a two-bed cottage that sleeps four. You get one bathroom upstairs, which has both a bath and a separate shower.

It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after. The stairs are steep, though. They're the original cottage stairs. If you have trouble with stairs, you should know that.

Out the back, there's a shared courtyard. A gate from there leads to your own garden. It's a nice, quiet spot with flowers. There's a pond in that garden. It's not fenced, so just be aware if you have young children or dogs.

In the village, there's a pub within walking distance. The Lodge Trust is here too. It's a local charity with a cafe and some small animals. It's a pleasant place for a short walk.

Rutland Water is the main thing around here. It's about a ten-minute drive. You can cycle the path around it, go birdwatching, or try the water sports. There's a lot to do for a full day out. For cyclists, we have bike storage here at the cottage.

Hambleton Bakery is famous and it's only a few miles away. Good for pastries and bread. The towns of Oakham, Stamford and Uppingham are all close. They have good markets and shops.

For a historical visit, Rockingham Castle is under half an hour away. It has great views and gardens.

You can bring up to three dogs. The garden is enclosed from the courtyard, but as I said, the pond in the main garden area isn't fenced.

Facilities are all there: WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine, and parking. Bedding and towels are included.
