Well Cottage
Well Cottage is a thatched place in Cottesmore. It’s a rental cottage, just sets back from the village street. You can see the church from the front.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom. It’s got a 4 Star rating, from the official scheme, so it’s comfortable. It’s a proper old cottage, so things are where they are. The doorways are a bit low in places.
You’ve got a shop about a minute’s walk away. The pub is a bit further, maybe three minutes. They do food. The garden is enclosed, so that’s fine if you’ve got dogs.
The big thing here is Rutland Water. It’s about five miles away. You can hire bikes and ride around it, or go for a walk. There’s sailing and fishing there too. The Rutland Water website has all the details.
Oakham is the nearest town, a few miles away. It’s got a castle and the usual shops. Stamford is a bit further, maybe twenty minutes by car. It’s a nice old town to walk around.
If you like big houses, there are a few within about half an hour. Burghley House is probably the most famous, near Stamford. Rockingham Castle is that way too.
Inside, it’s got what you’d expect. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. There’s a cot and a highchair if you need them. Parking is on the drive. You can bring up to two dogs.
