It sleeps eight people. There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms, which helps with a big group. It's got a 4 Star rating. The stairs are normal, not too steep for a cottage. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you've got dogs or kids.
The local shop is about a minute's walk. The village pub is maybe two minutes away. They do food. There's a restaurant a couple of miles away in the other direction.
Rutland Water is the main thing, about five miles. You can walk or cycle all the way round it. They do sailing, fishing, birdwatching. There's a Rutland Water website for all the activities.
Oakham is the nearest proper town, about four miles. Uppingham and Stamford are close too. They've got all the shops and cafes you'd need.
If you like big houses, there are a lot. Burghley House near Stamford is about fourteen miles away. They run the horse trials. Rockingham Castle is about sixteen miles. The National Trust East Midlands page lists others like Belton House.
Inside, it's got the basics: a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. You can bring up to four dogs. There's parking for a couple of cars on the drive.
