Mossknowe Escape Kirkpatrick Fleming

Mossknowe Escape is an annexe attached to Mossknowe House, a big old Georgian place. It's in Kirkpatrick Fleming village, in Dumfriesshire. The house is set back from the road with its own garden, so it's quiet.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, which is handy. It's a 5 Star place, so it's well-finished and everything's in good order. The stairs are fine, just be aware you've got three floors so there's a fair bit of up and down.

The kitchen is modern and has what you need. There's a wood burner in the sitting room. Outside, there's a covered hot tub with its own little stove to keep you warm. The garden is enclosed.

You're about half an hour from the coast. The Solway Coast is good for walks and wildlife. For history, Caerlaverock Castle is worth a visit. If you want a big day out, Drumlanrig Castle has grounds and activities, and it's about a 40-minute drive.

Gretna Green is 15 miles away, just over the border. It's known for weddings, but there are shops and places to eat there too. You can get to the edge of the Lake District in under an hour if you fancied it.

Facilities: all the bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking. The garden is yours to use. No pets, sorry.
