Chestnut House is in Bridgend, a town in South Wales. It's a modern, detached house, on a normal street. It sleeps eight, in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms.
It's a 4 Star property. That means it's well equipped. It's clean and things work. It's not a country cottage, it's a family house.
The main living area is open plan, with big doors out to the back garden. There's a second living room at the back with a projector screen, like a cinema room. The garage has been set up with an exercise bike and yoga mats. It's quite a practical house.
Upstairs, the main bedroom has a Tempur mattress. There are two other double rooms. The fourth room has a double bed with a single bunk above it, so it's good for kids.
The garden is enclosed. There's parking on the driveway.
You're about five miles from the coast. Ogmore-by-Sea is a ten minute drive. Porthcawl is about twelve minutes. Both have good beaches. The Visit Wales beaches page has details for the whole area.
For a day out, Cowbridge is a nice market town. Penarth is a proper seaside town with a pier. Bridgend town centre has shops and places to eat.
If you want to travel further, the Brecon Beacons are under 90 minutes north. The Brecon Beacons National Park site has walking routes. To the west, Tenby is a popular spot, also about an hour and a half away.
Facilities: all the standard things are included, like WiFi, a washing machine, and bedding. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.
