Secret Spot is in Porthcawl. It's a converted stable that was an artist's studio, so there's still some of their artwork on the walls. It's decorated around that.
It's for two people, with one bedroom and a shower room. It's all open plan, so the living area, kitchen and bed are in one space. There's a separate little entrance hall for leaving coats and boots. That's useful.
Outside, there's a gated parking space and a seating area. You go down some steps from there to get to the front door.
It's a 4 Star place. That means it's well kept and comfortable, not just basic. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a green right opposite and a dog friendly pub there too. The beach for dogs is less than a mile away.
Porthcawl has a harbour and the usual seaside things, like an amusement park. There's fishing and surf schools if you're interested. For a longer day out, you can drive to the Gower Peninsula in under half an hour. The National Trust Gower page has good walk ideas. The Visit Wales site is useful for planning too.
Facilities are what you'd expect: WiFi, parking, bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine in the kitchen.
