All Saints Cottage Ashdon

All Saints Cottage is a thatched house in Ashdon, a small village in Essex. It's a detached house, so you get the garden to yourselves. The garden is mostly lawn with some mature trees and a patio.

The house sleeps five. That’s three bedrooms and two bathrooms. One bathroom is an en-suite to the main bedroom. It's a 4 Star property, so it’s well-equipped and comfortable. The stairs are fairly steep, which is normal for an older house. It's got a wood-burning stove. There's a dishwasher and an Aga, plus a standard oven and hob if you’re not used to cooking on an Aga.

The village is quiet. There are local walks from the door. The main reason to come here is to be in a quiet spot but within easy reach of Saffron Walden. That's a market town about ten minutes drive away. It's got good shops and a Waitrose.

For a day out, Audley End House is nearby. It’s a big English Heritage property with gardens. English Heritage Audley End. They sometimes do open-air concerts there in summer. The miniature railway on the estate is popular with children.

Cambridge is about 18 miles away, so within half an hour if the traffic's okay. You can park at the park and ride. It's worth a visit if you haven't been. Duxford Imperial War Museum is also about 20 minutes away.

The house has Wi-Fi, a TV, on-site parking, and all bedding and towels are included. No pets sorry.
