Ingo Brake Retreat

This is Ingo Brake Retreat in Lydford. It's a detached house on Dartmoor, set in its own 13-acre woodland. You're about half an hour from either coast.

The main thing is it sleeps twelve. There are six bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. That's why bigger groups or families with teenagers like it. You're not queuing for the shower. The house is on several levels and you can split it into a four-bed and a two-bed part if you want, using the separate second-floor kitchen.

There's a big family kitchen and a separate dining room. The living room has a wood burner and a piano. Upstairs there's another sitting room that kids tend to take over. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-equipped, not just basic.

The garden is large and there's a private tennis court. The woods are yours to walk in. You'll see deer and sheep from the windows. At night, with no street lights, you can see a lot of stars.

You're right on the edge of Lydford Gorge, which is about a ten-minute walk. For longer walks or cycles, you just step out the door onto the moor. Tavistock is about fifteen minutes by car, Okehampton about twenty. The north coast beaches like Widemouth Bay are around half an hour, south coast ones like Bantham a bit longer.

Facilities: all bedding and towels are included. There's parking for several cars. Wi-Fi is here. We allow up to two dogs. There's a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. The washing machine and dryer are in the utility room.
