Chestnut Lodge
Chestnut Lodge is one of our places up at Smallwood Hey. It's a single-storey cabin on our working farm.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one king and one with twins, and a family bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable but it's not a hotel. It's open plan, so the living room, dining table and kitchen are all in one room. There's a wood burner for cooler nights.
You've got your own private garden out the front. It looks out over the fields where our cows are. You'll see the owls flying past at dusk quite often.
The farm's quiet but you're not remote. Poulton-le-Fylde is about ten minutes by car for shops and supermarkets. Blackpool's about a twenty-five minute drive if you want the lights or the Pleasure Beach. The coast at Knott End and Pilling is closer, maybe fifteen minutes.
For walking, it's good country. A twenty-minute walk gets you to Pilling Sands, which is excellent for birdwatching. In winter, thousands of geese come in to feed. It's something to see.
In terms of stuff here, it's got what you'd expect. WiFi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. No pets, I'm afraid.
