Thornycroft Cottage is in Earlswood, Monmouthshire. It's a detached cottage, so there's nobody next door.
It's a one-bedroom place but it sleeps four. There's a double bed and a sofa bed in the living area. One bathroom with a shower. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's been done to a high standard.
The main room is open plan. Kitchen, dining table, and seating area all in one space. There's a wood burner, so you get a real fire if you want one. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you have dogs. It looks out onto woods.
Wentwood Forest is right on the doorstep. It's a huge ancient woodland, good for walks. Forestry England Wentwood has maps.
Chepstow is about a ten minute drive. They've got shops and a castle. Chepstow Castle is worth a look. From there you can drive up the Wye Valley to Tintern Abbey, which is about twenty minutes away.
Raglan Castle and Caldicot Castle are also within half an hour if you like that sort of thing.
Facilities: there's a dishwasher, washing machine, towels and bedding are included. WiFi and TV are there. Parking for one car on the gravel drive.
