Mains Of Durn Cottage,

This is Mains Of Durn Cottage. It's on the edge of Portsoy, which is a fishing town on the Aberdeenshire coast, between Banff and Macduff. The cottage is detached and stands on its own. You look out over fields.

It sleeps four in two bedrooms. Two beds, one bathroom. The shower's in there too. It's got a 4 Star rating. We've just finished renovating it, so everything is new. The wood burner is straightforward to use and there's a basket of logs to get you started.

The living area is open plan, with the kitchen at one end. It has a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's a garden with a patio area. Parking for one car is right next to the cottage.

You can walk into Portsoy in about ten minutes. The harbour is the main thing to see. There's a historic Salmon Bothy there too. The coastal path goes right through the town if you want a proper walk. They have a boat festival in July which gets busy.

Within half an hour's drive you've got a few options. Duff House in Banff is an Historic Environment Scotland property. For a bigger beach, Sandend is a short drive west. Cullen is along the coast too, with its viaduct and beach. If you're after golf, there are courses at Portsoy, Buckpool, and Duff House Royal.

You can bring one well-behaved dog. Bedding and towels are included. The WiFi is decent.
