Mansefield Cottage is in Blacklaw, Aberdeenshire. It's a semi-rural spot. The main view is over farmland, but you can see the coast in the distance on a clear day. You get sunsets across the fields.
It sleeps three. There's a double room and a single room, and one bathroom. It was all redone in 2020. The main room is open plan: kitchen, dining table, and sitting area all together. The floor is tiled. It's got underfloor heating, which is very effective. There's a Smart TV and wifi. The sofa is comfortable. There's a washing machine and parking right outside.
The stairs are internal but quite steep and a bit narrow. Something to be aware of.
Portsoy is the nearest proper town, about four miles away. It's a fishing port with a historic harbour, a few shops, places to eat, and a beach. The local shop and pub are also about four miles.
You can walk or cycle straight from the cottage. The coast path is about five miles away. There are lots of fishing villages and beaches along this stretch. For castles and bigger gardens, you're within half an hour of places like Castle Fraser and Crathes Castle. Aberdeen is about an hour's drive if you need a city.
