Ivy Cottage is on the Mountblairy Estate, near Crossbrae in Aberdeenshire. It's detached, so you've got your own space. The place runs on renewable electricity now.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. Both rooms have two single beds, but one set can be made into a double if you ask when you book. There's one bathroom. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean, not luxurious.
The kitchen has what you need: an electric cooker, fridge, microwave, and a washing machine. There's a dining table for four. The chest freezer is in the garage.
The sitting room has an open fire. We leave logs and kindling. There's a TV with Freeview. The sun porch is good for reading. You might see red squirrels in the garden. Very occasionally, a pine marten comes through the field.
The River Deveron runs through the estate. There are good walks along it and through the woods. You can book fishing on the river separately.
The nearest beach is about eight miles away, at Banff or Macduff. There are golf courses locally. For a bigger town, Aberdeenshire is about 45 minutes by car. If you're into castles and history, there's a lot around here.
Facilities: parking on site, WiFi, bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
