Pond View
Pond View is in Cross in Hand, a village just outside Heathfield. It's a cottage for two people, one bedroom. We live next door.
It’s a standalone building, not attached to anything, in a quiet spot. You get your own parking and a gated entrance. The main feature is the veranda and the big balcony upstairs, both overlooking the fishpond. You can't fish in it, that's ours, but there's fishing nearby. There are two other ponds on the land you can walk around. The place backs onto old woodland, so you'll see deer, squirrels, birds, that sort of thing.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable. Downstairs is open plan with the kitchen and living area. Upstairs is the bedroom with a kingsize bed and a Smart TV. The balcony off the bedroom is a good size, with chairs.
Heathfield is a couple of miles away. It's a small town on a ridge, so the views are good. There are shops, cafes, a bakery, chip shops. There are a few pubs nearby too.
For walking, the 1066 Country Walk is close by. It goes past Herstmonceux Castle and ends up in Rye. If you cycle, the Cuckoo Trail starts nearby and goes all the way to Eastbourne.
Eastbourne is about sixteen miles away, so half an hour by car. Royal Tunbridge Wells is about seventeen miles the other way. Brighton is under an hour's drive.
Facilities: it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
