The Lookout
The Lookout is a bright and spacious apartment over two floors for two guests, with an additional single bed in the bedroom. It has views looking over the sandy beach towards the Torridon mountain range and closer to home the Cuillins and the Isle of Raasay. There is a small drive to take you into the secluded garden and the entrance to The Lookout, on the ground floor is a welcoming modern kitchen which is alongside the dining area and the living room, with a large picture window. Upstairs is the bathroom with an overhead shower and the bedroom, and the bedroom has twin-aspect views. There is space in front of the apartment for sitting out and taking in the sea and mountain views.
The area of Breakish is a small township which is a 10-minute walk into the bigger town of Broadford where you will come across a few good restaurants, the local supermarket and also a couple of pubs. The Lookout sits on the family croft, at the bottom of the croft is the beach and it is also a fantastic area for collecting fossils. If you are interested in geology, the bottom of the croft and the seashore would be heaven for you to explore!
Ardnish is a great location for you to be based if you wish to visit Wester Ross, Plockton, Eilean Donan Castle, all of which are a short car journey over the Skye bridge. Whilst on Skye you can go south towards Armadale and visit the Clan Donald Museum, on the Sleat Peninsula and also Armadale Castle. Lots of boat trips that also allow you to see the Isle of Skye from the outside in!
Heading further into the Isle of Skye there is plenty for everyone from the Cuillin Mountain range, the Fairy Pools, the Old Man of Storr, the Fairy Glens, to the northwest of the Island you can visit Dunvegan Castle and also enjoy a walk down to Neist point Lighthouse which is overlooked by Waterstein Head. The Isle of Skye has a lot of history dating back to the Dinosaurs, the Vikings and also Bonny Prince Charlie and Flora Macdonald, there are a number of books in The Lookout that can further inform you on many of the above.
