Just a five-minute walk from Skye Eco Pod, you can sample home cooked food and an excellent selection of whisky and gin. The walking is superb for all levels, with Talisker Bay, Glenbrittle Beach, Fairy Pools, the Cuillin Mountains and so much more. A trip to Dunvegan Castle and Coral Beach, Neist Point Lighthouse or the beautiful Waternish Peninsula are all recommended and are all on the west side of the island. Take a sea trip from Portree to see the varied sea and bird life and also enjoy the beauty of the rugged coastline. To the north of Portree is the Trotternish Peninsula, which boasts some of Skye’s most stunning scenery. To the south of the island is Broadford, where you will find ‘The Garden of Skye’. Here you can visit the ruins of Armadale Castle and its lovely gardens. Skye has so much to offer for the outdoor enthusiast, with hill walking, fishing, boat trips, kayaking, pony trekking, as well as the opportunity to discover the many craft/art galleries and restaurants for a more relaxing time and to be awestruck by the dramatic scenery.
