Ivy Cottage is in Bacup, in Lancashire. It's a mid-terraced cottage, stone built. A south facing patio gets the sun late into the day.
It sleeps four in two double bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's a 3 Star place, so everything works but it's not high-end. The stairs are steep, which is normal for a cottage this old. They might not suit everyone.
You can bring one dog. There's a washing machine, WiFi, TV, and the bedding is included. There's a bit of garden out the back and space to store bikes.
There are two pubs within walking distance that do food. The town of Bacup is about a mile and a half away for shops. Stubbylee Park there has an outdoor gym, tennis, and a cycling track.
You're about 15 minutes by car from Rawtenstall. It's got a market, some independent shops, and a good dry ski slope. The mountain bike trails at Lee and Cragg Quarry start just outside Bacup. There's plenty of walking in the Rossendale Valley.
Other things within a half hour drive or so include Healey Dell Nature Reserve, the Singing Ringing Tree sculpture, and the National Trust's Gawthorpe Hall. Manchester is about 40 minutes by car, or you can get a train from nearby stations.
