Middle Bank Top Farm is a farmhouse near the village of Water, in Lancashire. It's on a working farm, so you'll see sheep and cows in the fields around you. The house itself is detached, with its own driveway and a big enclosed garden at the back. It's all yours for the week.
The house sleeps twelve. There are six bedrooms and two bathrooms. One of the bedrooms has bunk beds. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and spacious, but it's a proper old farmhouse so the floors aren't all level and some of the doorways are low. Watch your head if you're tall.
Downstairs, there's a living room with a wood burner. We leave logs for you. The kitchen is large and has a dishwasher. There's a big dining table that seats everyone. The utility room has a washing machine and space for boots and coats.
The garden is fully enclosed, which is good if you're bringing dogs or kids. There's outdoor furniture and a barbecue. You can charge an electric car here; there's a socket on the outside wall.
The local village, Lumb, is a five minute walk. It has a pub and a cafe. Rawtenstall is about four miles away for bigger shops. The East Lancashire Railway steam trains run from there.
For walks, you're right on the edge of the Forest of Bowland. It's great walking country. The Yorkshire Dales National Park is about a 30 minute drive to the north. Bolton Abbey is in that direction too. Heading south, you can get into the West Pennine Moors quickly.
You can bring up to two dogs. All the bedding and towels are included. We provide a cot and a highchair if you need them.
If you're a bigger group, we also have Courtyard Cottage next door. You can book both together.
