Foxstones Farm House

Foxstones Farm House is near Burnley, in Hurstwood. It's an old farmhouse that's been in the same family for a long time. It sleeps five, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

The house is old, so mind your head in some doorways. The stairs are the original farmhouse stairs, which means they're steep and a bit uneven. It's part of the character, but worth knowing.

You get the front garden to yourselves. It's a sunny spot with a table and chairs. Out the back, there's an enclosed patio area.

Inside, it's spacious. There's a large kitchen with an electric Aga. It works like a normal oven, but it also throws out a lot of heat. It's very cosy in winter. There's a separate utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer. The living room has a sofa, an armchair, and a TV.

Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs. Parking is on site.

The village, Cliviger, has a shop, a petrol station, and a couple of pubs within walking distance.

It's a good base. You're about 20 minutes from the M65, so getting around is easy. Burnley is ten minutes away for supermarkets and things. The Yorkshire Dales and the Forest of Bowland are both within half an hour's drive for walking. Manchester and the Lancashire coast are each about an hour away.

For planning days out: Forest of Bowland, Yorkshire Dales National Park, and the National Trust in the North West.
