The Barn

This is The Barn in Ropsley, Lincolnshire. It's a barn conversion for two people. There's one bedroom and one bathroom. We've got a 4 Star rating, which is accurate. It's comfortable and well kept.

The place is detached and quiet. You've got your own enclosed garden. There's a sunroom that looks out over the fields. The owner keeps horses and ponies out there, so you can watch them from the chairs.

A public footpath starts about ten metres from the front door. You can walk straight out into the countryside. There's a small orchard by the property with apple, pear, plum and cherry trees. Help yourself to fruit when it's in season.

The village pub is a five minute walk. It's a good one, serves food and real ale. It's recently won an award. There's a fishing lake and a golf course in the village as well.

For a day out, you can drive to Stamford, which is about twenty minutes. Lincoln is under half an hour. Both have markets, antique shops, and the usual things. The nearest big National Trust property is probably Belton House, which is near Grantham.

If you're interested in the RAF history around here, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight is at RAF Coningsby, and there's the Lincolnshire Aviation Centre near East Kirkby. Both are within a thirty minute drive.

The facilities are all there. Wood burner, dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking on site. We allow up to two dogs. There's an outside tap and a dog wash area for muddy paws.
