Nightingale Lodge

This is Nightingale Lodge. It's in Braceby, Lincolnshire. Just so you know, Braceby is tiny. It's really a hamlet, so it's quiet. The cottage is on what used to be our farm.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped, but not huge. The main bedroom is downstairs. The second bedroom is upstairs, so it feels quite separate.

There’s a conservatory on the back. You sit there and look out over the paddock. That's the best spot, especially if the sun's out.

The kitchen has a dishwasher. There's a wood burner in the living room. It's simple to use, and we leave some logs for you to get started. The garden is enclosed. There's parking right outside.

We provide all the bedding and towels. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. WiFi is included.

For a pub, there's one about a twenty-minute walk across the fields. If you drive, it's just over a mile. The nearest shop for a proper supermarket is in Bourne, about six miles away.

If you're driving out, Stamford and Oakham are nice market towns, maybe twenty-five minutes. Rutland Water is just past Oakham. Good for walking, cycling, that sort of thing. You can get to Lincoln or Newark in under forty minutes.

Lincolnshire has a lot of RAF history if that's your interest. There's the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre and other museums. For a day at the coast, the Norfolk beaches are about an hour's drive east.

No pets, I'm afraid.
