Holmeside Barn Grewelthorpe

Holmeside Barn is near Grewelthorpe. It’s a stone barn conversion, detached. You get the whole place and the garden.

It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms, so no one’s queuing for the shower. It’s got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well-finished and comfortable. There are bedrooms on the ground floor and the first floor. Two of them open onto the garden.

The sunroom is the main feature. It’s got big glass walls looking out over the fields. The view is all countryside, no other houses in the way. The kitchen doors open onto a deck.

The garden is large and grassy. It’s not fully enclosed. There’s a hidden ditch at the top to keep the view clear, so watch young children. There’s a play area for kids on the lower lawn.

You’re right on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The place is surrounded by fields with sheep and wildlife. It’s very quiet.

Masham is the nearest town, about ten minutes by car. It’s got a couple of pubs, a shop, and the Theakston and Black Sheep breweries. Ripon is fifteen minutes away, it’s a bit bigger with a cathedral and more shops. Harrogate is about half an hour.

Fountains Abbey is a twenty minute drive. It’s a World Heritage Site. The RHS garden at Harlow Carr is near Harrogate.

For facilities: there’s parking, a washing machine, dishwasher, wood burner, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We allow two well-behaved dogs. There’s a cot and highchair if you need them.
