Crown Courtyard Cottage

Crown Courtyard Cottage is in Grewelthorpe. It’s one of a row of terraced cottages built around a courtyard. You get parking right outside.

It’s a one-bedroom cottage, sleeps two people. It’s got a 3 Star rating. It’s clean and comfortable. It’s open plan downstairs with a wood burner. The bedroom and bathroom are upstairs. The stairs are fairly steep, just so you know.

The garden is shared with the other cottages around the courtyard. It’s a quiet spot.

The village has a big duck pond. The pub is about 25 yards away. It serves food. The nearest shop is a mile and a half away in Kirkby Malzeard, so you’ll likely drive for groceries.

If you like walking, you’re in a good place. You can walk straight from the door to Hackfall Woods, which is an old wooded gorge. It’s managed by the National Trust. The Himalayan Garden and Sculpture Park is in the village too – it’s very popular in season.

Masham is four miles away. That’s where the Theakston and Black Sheep breweries are. Ripon is seven miles. It’s a small city with a cathedral and racecourse.

Within about half an hour’s drive, you’ve got plenty. There’s Fountains Abbey, which is a World Heritage Site. Brimham Rocks is great for strange rock formations and views. The Yorkshire Dales National Park starts not far away. Harrogate is about 30 minutes, Pateley Bridge a bit less.

You can bring up to two dogs. There’s a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There’s WiFi and TV.

For planning, the Yorkshire Dales National Park and North York Moors National Park sites are useful.
