Old Rectory Cottage is in Fernhurst. It's a one-bedroom place for two people. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well looked after.
It's all on the ground floor, which is handy. There's one step up into the main room. That room has the living space, kitchen, and a table. There's an open fireplace for colder nights, and a smart TV. A stable door opens straight out to your own private garden. It faces south, so you get the sun. There's a wood burner out there you can use as a barbecue too. We leave some toiletries and a hairdryer for you.
You get your own parking spot and a separate entrance. The garden is secluded. It feels private.
There's a footpath from the cottage that takes about two minutes to reach the village green. The pub there is 16th century. They do food. It's a good starting point for walks. You can walk straight out from the cottage onto the paths around Black Down, which is the highest point in the South Downs National Park.
There's a recreation ground by the green with tennis courts. You sometimes see hot-air balloons launching from there.
You can walk to two other pubs in under half an hour using the footpaths. One is in Henley, the other in Fernhurst. The one in Fernhurst does takeaways.
If you drive, Petworth is about 15 minutes away. It has Petworth House and antique shops. Midhurst is about the same distance, known for the polo at Cowdray Park. For sailing or swimming, Frensham Great Pond is nearby. Goodwood, for the festivals or racing, is 25 to 30 minutes away. West Wittering beach and Chichester are about 35 to 45 minutes, depending on traffic.
Facilities wise: there's a washing machine, WiFi, bedding and towels are included, and there's an electric vehicle charger. We can provide a cot and a highchair if you need them. The entrance is wheelchair accessible. Sorry, no pets.
