Old Rectory Cottage is next to our place in Fernhurst. It's all on the ground floor, which is good if stairs are a problem. You have your own entrance and parking.
It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place. That means it's comfortable and well kept. There's one step up into the main living area.
The main room has the kitchen, dining and sitting space together. There's an open fireplace for cooler nights and a smart TV. The stable door opens straight out to your own garden. It's south facing and gets the sun. There's a wood burning barbecue outside.
We live on site, so we're here to let you in and can help if you need anything. We leave you a breakfast basket to start you off, plus coffee, tea, some basics. Robes and slippers are there for the hot tub.
The village green is a couple of minutes' walk down a footpath. The pub there is 16th century and does food. A lot of walks start from there. You can walk straight up to Black Down, which is the highest point in the South Downs. There's a recreation ground next to the green with tennis courts.
You can walk to two other pubs within half an hour via the footpaths. One does takeaway.
By car, Petworth is about 15 minutes. It has the house and art gallery, antique shops, and a big park. Midhurst is similar distance, known for the polo at Cowdray Park. The coast at West Wittering is about 40 minutes, depending on traffic.
Facilities wise: everything's included - bedding, towels, WiFi, washing machine. There's a cot and highchair if needed. The entrance is wheelchair accessible. No pets, sorry.
