The Suffolk

The Suffolk is in Brandon, Suffolk. It's a ground-floor apartment. You get your own front door and a parking space round the back.

It's modern inside, all open-plan. Sleeps four, but it's one bedroom with a kingsize bed and then a sofa bed in the living area. One bathroom with a walk-in shower. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well looked after. Everything's clean and works.

There's a small courtyard garden out the back. It’s not big, but you can sit out there. The main thing is the view from the back. It's right next to the hotel garden, which goes straight down to the River Ouse. You can see the river from the window. It's quiet. Good for watching the birds.

The owners run a hotel a few minutes walk away. You can get breakfast there if you want. There are a couple of shops and places to eat very close by, within 25 yards.

Thetford Forest is a big draw. It's about an eight minute drive. Massive place for walks, cycling, or the high ropes if you're feeling brave. Forestry England have the details.

You’re about 20 minutes from Thetford and Swaffham for bigger shops and market days. Norwich, Cambridge, Bury St Edmunds are all within an hour if you fancy a day out. The north Norfolk coast, like Hunstanton, is also about an hour's drive.

For facilities: it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and all the bedding and towels are included. There's a TV. The kitchen is fully equipped if you want to cook. No pets, I'm afraid.

If you're planning trips, Visit Suffolk and Forestry England are useful.
