Tigh Na Lenyk is a delightful, single-storey, detached cottage set in the Glen of Dochart within the Trossachs area of the Highlands in the National Park. It enjoys breathtaking views from both the front and the back and is situated in a quiet and peaceful location in the hamlet of Wester Lix. The cottage has a private garden, which enjoys lovely views of the countryside to the mountains beyond.
The bright accommodation is beautifully presented and provides an ideal base for couple and small family. The spacious living room has a corner sofa and wood burner to relax by on cooler evenings, as well as 42" plasma screen, DVD player, Wii and games, music centre and free Wi-Fi. Doors lead to the conservatory with a dining table and comfortable seating, where you can enjoy your evening meal surrounded by the magnificent scenery looking onto a decked garden area against the backdrop of Glen Ogle beyond. Adjoining the living room is a compact modern kitchen, well equipped for preparing a special meal . There are two attractively presented bedrooms, one with a super kingsize bed, and the other with twin beds. There is also a family bathroom. The large back garden slopes down to a private loch which is fenced for safety. This is a fantastic place to relax while watching the abundance of local wildlife, which includes ducks on the pond, birds of prey, red squirrels and deer if you keep a close eye on the hills.
The region is well known for its wild beauty and there is plenty to discover in every direction. Explore nearby Killin, where the spectacular Falls of Dochary flow around the Island of Inchbuie. It is also the burial place of Clan Macnab, and the area is steeped in tales of folklore and history, which you can learn about at the Breadalbane Folklore Centre. Killin is at the head of Loch Tay and offers walks and cycling to suit all abilities ranging from a gentle stroll along the riverside to hills and mountains and there are plenty of place to eat or enjoy a pint afterwards. Tigh Na Lenyk is a perfect base for couples to explore the surrounding countryside and Central Scotland with Loch Lomond, Ben Nevis, Oban, Fort William, Glencoe and Pitlochry all within easy reach.
