Cerniog Cabin

Cerniog Cabin is at Glanhanog, near Carno. It's up a valley, on a hillside. The views from there are really nice, over the fields.

It sleeps two properly, in one double bedroom. There's a sofa bed as well if you need it. It's a 5 Star place, which in this case means it's a well-built cabin, new and clean. Everything works. The shower is good.

You have your own deck with an electric hot tub on it. It's private. Sitting out there in the evening, looking at the stars, is the main point of the place.

There's a kitchenette with an oven and a hob. It's fine for cooking meals. You can eat outside if the weather's good.

Carno village is about three miles back down the valley. There's a shop for basics and a pub that does food. It's a walkable distance if you don't mind a hill.

For bigger shops, Newtown or Machynlleth are about twenty minutes by car. Both have supermarkets and interesting bits and pieces.

You're in a good spot for getting out. The Elan Valley reservoirs are stunning for a drive or a walk. It's about half an hour. Hafren Forest is similar. If you want the sea, Barmouth beach is about an hour's drive. For a proper mountain, Cadair Idris is also just over an hour. The mountain bike trails at Coed y Brenin are famous, if that's your thing.

Facilities: WiFi works. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right by the cabin. No pets allowed.
