The Cider Barn is on our farm just outside Chulmleigh. It sleeps two, one bedroom and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's a converted barn, so you get the beams and high ceilings. There's underfloor heating, which is good in winter.
The stairs to the mezzanine bedroom are more like a ladder. They are steep. Fine if you're okay with that. Just so you know.
You've got the place to yourselves. There's a private patio area with a table. The main thing is the land. It's twenty acres of fields and woods with a river running through. You can walk around it all. There's a bench on the hill with a view. We've also got a fishing lake on site, which is free for guests to use.
As part of your stay, you get a 45-minute session booked in the wood-fired sauna and the cold plunge tub. It's in a separate hut by the lake.
Chulmleigh village is less than a mile away. It's a small hilltop place. There's a shop for basics, a play park, and a few pubs that do food.
For a day out, Dartmoor is about half an hour's drive. Exeter is roughly forty minutes. The North Devon coast, like Westward Ho!, is about forty-five minutes. You can get to Exmoor in under an hour as well.
Facilities: it has a wood burner, dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Parking is right outside. No pets, I'm afraid.
