Mayflower is one of two shepherd's huts here on the farm. It's on its own concrete pad, detached, with its own enclosed patio area out front.
It's compact, sleeps two. One room, really. You walk in and the bed's at one end, raised up a bit so you can see out of the window while you're lying down. The kitchen is along one wall, with a gas hob and a microwave. There's a breakfast bar to eat at. The shower room is in a little cubicle at the back. It's all clean and modern. Has a gas stove that looks like a wood burner for heat.
Outside your door there's a fire pit and seating. You'll see plenty of wildlife. Deer in the fields, red kites overhead. There's a pond nearby that a heron visits.
The farm track is firm gravel, so access is okay. It's a working farm, so you'll see and hear farm things sometimes.
Pocklington town is about ten minutes by car. It's got the usual shops, a few pubs that do food, a couple of cafes.
For days out, York is roughly half an hour's drive. Castle Howard is about twenty minutes away. National Trust Yorkshire has a list of their nearby places. The Yorkshire Wolds are right here for walking and cycling. The Yorkshire Wolds Way path is close by.
You can bring one dog. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is right next to the hut.
