This is the Mayflower. It's a shepherd's hut on our farm just outside Pocklington. It's for two people.
It's one of two huts here. You get your own bit of garden out the front with a fire pit and chairs. The view is over fields. You'll see wildlife, deer and birds of prey sometimes.
Inside, it's all one space. The bed's at one end, slightly raised. There's a small kitchen with a gas hob and a combi microwave oven. The shower room is ensuite. It's got a gas stove that looks like a wood burner for heat. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and well looked after.
Because it's a hut, the space is compact. The doors are standard width but there's a small step up to get in. The shower is a cubicle.
Pocklington town is about five minutes by car. It's a proper market town with shops, cafes, and a few pubs. Good for picking up what you need.
For days out, York is roughly half an hour's drive. It's straightforward to get to. Castle Howard and Sledmere House are both within a 30 minute drive too, if you like big houses and gardens. The Yorkshire Wolds are right here for walking or cycling. The Yorkshire Wolds Way path goes through them.
You can bring one dog. There's parking right by the hut. All bedding and towels are included. There's WiFi and TV. The farm is still working, so you'll hear the usual farm noises sometimes.
