Violet Cottage

Violet Cottage is on Tillington Common, about five miles from Hereford. It's a detached cottage. It's built all on one level, so there are no steps or stairs to get in or around inside. Everything is wheelchair accessible.

It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's been finished to a high standard. Underfloor heating, a wood burner, that sort of thing. The bedroom has a zip-and-link bed, so it can be a king-size double or two singles if you let us know in advance.

The front is a patio with garden furniture and a chimenea. There's a lawn at the side where we keep our chickens. They're friendly. At the back of the cottage, there's a bench that looks out over the fields. It's very quiet.

There's a pub that does food within walking distance. A shop and post office is about a mile away. Hereford is five miles. It's a city, so it's got everything: cathedral, shops, restaurants. The Hereford Cathedral has the Mappa Mundi you can see.

For walking, you can get straight onto paths from the cottage. Hergest Ridge and Offa's Dyke are good for views. Hay-on-Wye is about half an hour's drive. The Brecon Beacons are a bit further, maybe 45 minutes. Ludlow and the Shropshire hills are also within half an hour.

Facilities: it's got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, and parking right by the door. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
