Hop Kiln Barn is in Mansell Gamage, off a lane near the A44. It's a single, detached barn conversion, so it's quiet. You've got your own parking space right outside.
It's just for two people. One bedroom upstairs, one bathroom downstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well-equipped and in good order. The main space is open plan, which feels quite spacious. The stairs are a tight, spiral staircase, so you have to be careful on them.
The garden is at the back, with a patio area. It's not huge, but it's fenced and private, with fields behind.
You're in the middle of the countryside here. For a shop or a pub, you'd drive to either Hereford or Leominster. They're both about nine or ten miles away. Hereford has the cathedral and the Mappa Mundi. Hay-on-Wye is about sixteen miles west, just over the border into Wales.
If you like walking or history, there's plenty within half an hour. The Black and White Villages trail is all around here. Croft Castle and the Brockhampton Estate are National Trust places nearby. For a garden by the river, there's the Weir Garden just outside Hereford.
It has WiFi, a washing machine, and all the bedding and towels are included. There's a shower. You can store bikes. No pets.
