Angel Lodge Cotham

Angel Lodge is in Cotham, Nottinghamshire. It's a detached lodge for two people, right on the edge of a lake. It gets the sun all day, sunrise over the water and sunset over the woods behind you.

It's got one bedroom and one bathroom. The bedroom has French doors that open onto a private deck with a table and chairs. You can sit there with a coffee in the morning and look straight out over the lake. There's a separate bit for outdoor dining too.

Inside, it's all open plan apart from the bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom has a walk-in shower and a roll-top bath with a window looking out at the lake. The design is calm and simple.

Outside, there's about 170 acres of private woodland to walk through. It's part of a farm called Hawton Waters. The River Devon runs through it. You can swim in the lake if you want to. It's very quiet. They have long-eared owls here, which is rare, and you'll often see roe deer in the woods.

It's in a good spot for getting out. Newark-on-Trent is about ten minutes away by car. You can walk along the River Trent at the marina there, or look around Newark Castle. Southwell is about twenty minutes away. The National Trust Workhouse is there and it's worth a visit. Nottingham and its castle are roughly half an hour's drive. Lincoln is about forty minutes away if you fancy a day in the city.
