The Wheat Store is over at Honies Farm near Elston. It's one of four barns converted here, about five miles from Newark. It used to be a farm building, so it's got a solid, simple shape. They kept some of the old beams inside.
This one sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well finished and comfortable. The heating is underfloor, so it's even and warm. Everything's on one level, so no stairs to worry about.
You get your own bit of patio out the back. It looks out over fields. The garden is enclosed, so it's safe if you're bringing a dog. Speaking of which, you can bring one dog.
It's quiet here. You're on a working farm, so you'll see the fields but it's not noisy. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, Wi-Fi, and a smart TV so you can log into your own Netflix. Bedding and towels are included.
The nearest proper shop and pub are in Farndon, about three miles away. The pub there is by the River Trent. You can sit outside and watch the boats go by.
Newark's the closest town for supermarkets and things like that. You can get boat trips on the Trent from there. Nottingham and Lincoln are both within about half an hour's drive for a bigger day out. Lincoln Cathedral is up there. The area is flat, good for walking and cycling right from the door.
