Sherwood Forest Lodge 1
Sherwood Forest Lodge 1 is in Kings Clipstone. It's a single-storey lodge on its own, so no stairs at all, which is handy. It looks out onto the edge of the forest.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, so everything's in good order and well looked after.
You can step straight out onto the cycle trails. It's right next to Sherwood Pines for walking or mountain biking. The ruins of King John's Palace are just there in the field next door.
There's a pub and restaurant you can walk to. The shop is about a mile and a half away in the village.
Things nearby: Sherwood Pines has the Go Ape treetop course. Rufford Abbey and Clumber Park are a short drive. For a bigger day out, Hardwick Hall or Newstead Abbey are about 25 minutes by car.
The lodge has a fully enclosed garden, which is good if you've got kids or a dog. There's parking right there, a bike store, a dishwasher and a barbecue. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
