Printmakers Cottage

Printmakers Cottage is in Bellanoch, on the side of the Crinan Canal. It's attached to the main house.

It's an old barn they converted, and it's listed. There are beams and a double-height living room. The owner is an artist, so it's decorated with that sort of thing in mind. It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms.

One of the bedrooms and a wet room are on the ground floor. There's also a ramp to the front door. It might work if you have limited mobility, but check with us first to be sure. Upstairs, there's a double and a bunk room, plus another bathroom.

The main thing is the view. It looks straight out over the canal basin towards the River Add estuary and Loch Crinan. You can see Duntrune Castle from there.

There's a shed with a washing machine and dryer you can use. The garden is pebbled. You can park right outside.

You can bring one dog. There's a shop about five miles away in Lochgilphead. The closest pub is the Cairnbaan Hotel, about a mile and a half up the canal towpath.

From the cottage, you're right on the canal. You can walk or cycle the towpath. It's good for watching boats go through the lock. The Crinan Canal itself is worth a look. The sea lock at Crinan is about nine miles down the towpath. You can get boat trips from there or from Tarbert.

If you drive, Kilmartin Glen with its standing stones is about twenty minutes away. Inveraray is about forty minutes.
