Kirnan Cottage
Kirnan Cottage is just outside Kilmichael Glassary in Argyll. It's a detached stone cottage with a big enclosed garden. There's a river, the River Add, at the bottom of the lane.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and one bathroom. There's a king bedroom on the ground floor and two more bedrooms upstairs. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean but not luxurious. The hall and bedrooms have the original wood panelling.
The water comes from a natural spring on the land. It's tested every year and filtered. It tastes very clean.
There's a good pub that does food about two miles away. It's a flat walk along the road. The nearest shop is four miles away in Lochgilphead.
You're well placed for getting out. The Crinan Canal towpath is nearby for easy cycling or walking. There are forest trails for mountain biking if that's your thing. You can fish in the river or the lochs. For a day out, Oban is about 34 miles away for ferries to the islands like Mull. Inveraray is closer and has the jail museum. The coast around the Kintyre peninsula is all rugged beaches and good scenery.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, a cot and highchair if you need them, bedding and towels are included, and you can park right by the cottage. Sorry, no pets.
