Ar Deireadh
This is Ar Deireadh, in Tayvallich. It’s our bungalow. It’s detached, so no one on either side.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It’s got a 4 Star rating, which is accurate. It’s comfortable and clean. Everything is on the ground floor, which is useful. There are two steps up to the front door.
The main room has big doors that open onto the garden. The garden is enclosed. There’s a shed with a lock for bikes. The view is over fields.
The village is a couple of minutes' walk down the road. There’s a shop, a post office, a coffee shop, and a pub that does food. The harbour is there. You can swim off the rocks if you don’t mind it being cold.
Carsaig Bay is about a ten minute walk the other way. You can see Jura from there. The ferries to Jura leave from Tayvallich, so it’s easy to go across for the day.
If you want to drive, Crinan is about eight miles. You can walk or cycle along the canal towpath instead. Boat trips from Crinan are good for seeing wildlife.
Kilmartin Glen is about twelve miles. It’s full of old stones and burial sites. The museum there is worth a visit. Lochgilphead is roughly the same distance for bigger shops.
For facilities: there’s parking, WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We have a cot and a highchair if you need them. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
