Brampton Hill Farm Cottage is near Great Brampton in Herefordshire. It’s a converted cowshed on our small holding, so you’re down a farm track. It’s detached from our house, so you’re on your own.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. Everything’s on one level, so no stairs to worry about. It’s got a 4 Star rating. It’s clean and comfortable, but it’s a farm building, so expect the walls to be thick and the windows to be deep-set.
The view is the main thing. You walk out the front door and there’s the valley, all the way to Hereford in the distance. On a clear day you can see the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons. It’s very quiet.
The nearest shop and pub are in Weobley, about four miles away. It’s a proper old village, worth a look. Hay-on-Wye is about half an hour’s drive for the bookshops. Hereford, Worcester, and Gloucester are all within about 40 minutes if you want a cathedral or bigger shops. You can be in Wales in no time too, places like Abergavenny.
For things to do, the National Trust has a few properties nearby like Berrington Hall. The Brecon Beacons National Park is just over the border for walking.
Facilities: there’s parking right outside. It has a dishwasher and washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We’ve got a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. There’s a BBQ. You can store bikes. No pets, sorry, because of the farm animals.
