This is Brampton Hill Farm Cottage. It's our place in Great Brampton, Herefordshire. It used to be a cowshed, so it's a conversion. It's detached, next to our house on the smallholding. You get to it down a track, so it feels properly out of the way.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean, nothing too fancy. Because it's a converted farm building, the ceilings are beamed in the living area. Just watch your head if you're tall.
The best bit is the view. You step outside the front door and you're looking straight out over the valley towards Hereford. You can see the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons in the distance. It's very peaceful.
For facilities, it's got what you need: a dishwasher, washing machine, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right there. We've got a cot and a highchair if you need them. There's a BBQ outside too.
The nearest shop and pub are about four miles away in Weobley, so you'll want a car. Hay-on-Wye is about twenty minutes drive. That's the book town. Hereford, Worcester, and Gloucester are all within half an hour or so for a cathedral visit. You're right on the border, so you can pop into Wales easily. Monmouth and Abergavenny are close.
If you're planning walks, the Brecon Beacons National Park website is useful. For local history and places, English Heritage has a good list.
It's a working farm, so you'll see sheep and maybe hear the occasional tractor. No pets, sorry.
