Bryn Tor is a house on a country estate just outside Bolsover. It’s semi-detached. We call it The Gardener’s House because it used to be the head gardener's place.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It’s a 4 Star place. It’s been done up inside with an art deco theme, so there's a lot of dark wood and geometric patterns. It’s quite bold, not everyone's usual taste, but it’s been done with care. The stairs are a normal steepness.
You’ve got the garden to yourself. It’s a decent size. There’s parking right outside for two cars.
Inside, there’s a wood burner, a dishwasher, a washing machine, Wi-Fi, and a TV. We provide bed linen and towels. We can provide a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. It says up to two pets are allowed, but you’d need to check that when you book.
The estate has a kids' play area. There’s a local pub about half a mile walk away. The nearest shop and restaurant are about three-quarters of a mile.
Bolsover itself is a market town. The castle is the main thing. It’s a few minutes' drive away. Bolsover Castle is worth a look if you like history or views. The market is on Tuesdays and Fridays.
You’re well placed for driving to other places. Hardwick Hall is about 20 minutes. Chesterfield, with its crooked spire church, is about the same. Sherwood Forest is around half an hour.
For the Peak District, Bakewell is about 40 minutes. Chatsworth is about the same. If you want proper hills, Edale and Castleton are within an hour’s drive.
