Bathurst Cottage

Bathurst Cottage is in Scarcliffe, near Bolsover in north Derbyshire. It's a detached cottage, so it's on its own. The garden is enclosed and private.

It sleeps six people. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms. One bathroom has a walk-in shower, the other has a bath. It's got a 4 Star rating, which is good. It's got a wood burner, which we keep stocked. The heating and electric are included.

It's all on one level, which means the entrance and rooms are wheelchair accessible. There are no steps inside.

The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's a TV and the WiFi works. Bedding and towels are included. You can park right by the cottage. Sorry, no pets.

There's a pub in the village, about a five minute walk. It serves food. For a bigger shop, you'd want to drive to Bolsover or Chesterfield.

You can walk straight out from the door into the countryside. For a proper day out, Hardwick Hall is close. It's a National Trust place with a big estate. National Trust Hardwick Hall.

Chatsworth House is about a 25 minute drive. So is Bolsover Castle. Haddon Hall is a bit further, maybe 40 minutes. The Peak District National Park is on the doorstep, so walking and cycling routes are everywhere. Peak District National Park.

If you've got children, Sherwood Pines forest is about half an hour away for bike hire and trails. Alton Towers is roughly 45 minutes by car.
