Bathurst Cottage is in Scarcliffe, a village near Bolsover in Derbyshire. It's a detached cottage, so you're not sharing walls with anyone. The garden is private and enclosed.
It sleeps six people in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which is quite handy with a full house. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped. Everything's on one level, so there are no stairs. The front door and the main rooms are wheelchair accessible.
You can walk straight out of the back gate onto public footpaths. The local pub is about a five-minute walk. It serves food.
For days out, you're in a good spot. Hardwick Hall is about a 15-minute drive. It's a National Trust property. Chatsworth House is roughly half an hour's drive. So is Clumber Park, which is another National Trust place. Bolsover Castle is even closer, maybe ten minutes. That's English Heritage.
The market towns like Bakewell, Matlock and Buxton are all within a 30-minute drive. They have the shops and cafes you'd expect. Alton Towers is about 45 minutes away if that's your sort of thing.
Facilities are all here. There's a wood burning stove, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking on the drive for two cars. No pets, I'm afraid.
