The Ashes

The Ashes is a big, detached stone house on our farm in Low Dinsdale. It used to be a granary. We're right by the River Tees and you've got 130 acres of land to walk around, including our bit of the riverbank for fishing, if that's your thing. The grounds are quiet, with a lot of trees.

It sleeps ten people. Four bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean, but not a show home. The stairs inside are original. They're steep and a bit narrow in places, so you need to be careful.

We live on the estate, so we're around if you need anything. We can sort out activities if you book ahead, like fishing or canoeing on the river. There are also some bikes here you can use.

The house has a woodburning stove for colder nights, a dishwasher, washing machine, and a BBQ outside. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to three dogs. There's plenty of parking.

The nearest shop and pub is in the village, about two miles away. Neasham village is nice for a riverside walk and has a decent pub. For a day out, Richmond, Yarm and Northallerton are all good market towns within about half an hour's drive.

You're well placed here for exploring. The North Pennines are on the doorstep. The Yorkshire Dales and the Northumberland coast are both within an hour or so. The Lake District is about an hour and a half.
