Glebe Farm Cottage Hornby

Glebe Farm Cottage is in Hornby, on an arable farm. It's a converted farmhouse from the 1850s. The garden is a good size, with a patio and a barbecue. You get views over fields in every direction.

It sleeps seven, in four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable, with proper thick walls.

There's a wood burner in the main living room and an open fire in the second living room. The kitchen is big and has an Aga, so it's always warm. It also has a regular oven and a dishwasher.

The stairs are typical for an old farmhouse. They're not a ladder, but they are steep and turn a corner.

You're surrounded by farmland here, so it's quiet. The nearest shop and pub are two miles away in the village. The pub does food. There's a restaurant about four miles away.

For days out, Northallerton is eight miles. It's a proper market town. Richmond is about twenty minutes by car. It's got a castle, a river, and a good market square. You can pick up the Coast to Coast walk from there.

You're in a good spot for both the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors. The A1 and A66 are within half an hour, so getting around is straightforward. Thirsk, York, and the Durham coast are all within an hour's drive.

Facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, bedding and towels are included, and there's wifi. Bicycle storage is available. No pets, I'm afraid.
