Belmont House is in Appleton Wiske, a village just north of Northallerton. It's a pretty straightforward stone cottage, semi-detached.
It sleeps six people. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means it's clean and comfortable but not luxurious. There's a woodburning stove in the main room. The garden is yours to use, and there's a BBQ. We leave the bed linen and towels for you.
The village has a pub, The Black Horse, which is decent. For anything more, you'll want to drive to Northallerton, about five minutes away. They've got the usual shops, supermarkets, and a few places to eat.
It's a good spot for being in the middle of things without feeling it. The North York Moors are about half an hour's drive east. The Yorkshire Dales are about forty minutes west. For a day by the coast, Whitby or Saltburn are both roughly thirty five minutes away.
A couple of things to note. There's one bathroom, and it's upstairs. The stairs are fairly typical for a cottage, so they're a bit steeper than in a modern house. We don't accept pets.
