The Hayloft is in Milnathort, Perthshire. It's one of two cottages in an old mill, next to a stream called the Fochy Burn. It's quiet here, mostly fields and trees.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom downstairs. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well kept. The living area is upstairs. That's what they call 'upside-down' living. It means the views from the main room are better. The stairs inside are a standard mill conversion staircase, so they're a bit tighter and steeper than a modern house.
There's a shop and a pub about two miles away. I've eaten at the pub, it's fine. You're about three miles from Loch Leven. You can walk around it, or visit the castle island where Mary Queen of Scots was held. The RSPB's Vane Farm nature reserve is right there on the loch side if you like birdwatching.
Kinross is close for a round of golf. Perth is about a twenty minute drive for bigger shops and restaurants. Edinburgh and Glasgow are both under an hour away if you need a city day. Rosyth ferry terminal is about half an hour.
For facilities: you get the Wi-Fi, a washing machine, parking right outside. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. You also share access to a big bit of woodland, a hard tennis court, and a games room with the other cottage. No pets, sorry.
