Fochy Cottage is in Milnathort, Perthshire. It's one of two cottages in an old mill building, set by a stream. The accommodation is what they call 'upside-down', so the living area is upstairs. It keeps some of the original beams.
It sleeps four people in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom. The rating is 4 Star, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. It's a conversion, so the rooms feel like part of an old building.
Outside, you have your own patio. You share the bigger grounds with the other cottage. There's a hard tennis court and a games room in an outbuilding you can use.
The shop and a pub that does food are about two miles away in Kinnesswood. For a bigger shop, Milnathort is a couple of miles the other way.
Loch Leven is about three miles from the cottage. You can walk around it, or visit the RSPB Vane Farm nature reserve at the south end. The castle is on an island in the loch, where Mary Queen of Scots was held. You can get a boat out to it in the summer.
Within half an hour you can be in Perth for shops and restaurants. Edinburgh is under an hour by car if you want a city day. Glasgow is about the same. Rosyth ferry terminal is also within half an hour.
Included in the cottage: WiFi, a washing machine, all bedding and towels. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Parking is right outside. No pets, sorry.
