Northfork Cottage is in Reiss, between Wick and John O’Groats. It’s a detached cottage. The main thing is the view, it looks out over paddocks and Sinclair’s Bay. You can see the beach, the golf course, and the lighthouse at Noss Head. The sea view is genuinely interesting. You can sit for ages just watching it.
It’s a 4 Star place for two people. One bedroom with a double bed, and a shower room. There’s a second small room with a single futon if needed. It’s open plan at the front, with the kitchen and living area. There’s a big window and a large Smart TV.
You can bring one dog. There’s a washing machine and dishwasher. Bedding and towels are provided. Parking is right outside.
Reiss Sands beach is about a three quarter of a mile walk. It’s a long, sandy beach. Wick golf course is very close. The owner lives nearby and knows the area very well. They can tell you about the local sights and the weather for crossing to Orkney.
John O’Groats is a short drive north. Duncansby Head and the Castle of Mey are also nearby. Orkney is a ferry trip from Scrabster or Gills Bay. You can see the Pentland Firth from the cottage, which gives you an idea of the crossing conditions.
